Dwight French, from the Water Rights Division of the Oregon Water Resources Department, will share information on what we are calling “Water Rights 102”.  This will not be about the standard permitting process, but about newer water right procedures that provide flexibility, such as those listed below:

  • Water Leasing – how it works, split season, term, benefits
  • Conservation Statute – when it can be beneficial, the process, how the saved water is allocated
  • Limited Licenses
  • Drought – tools that can help in case of drought
  • Other flexibility opportunities

Please join us for an opportunity to catch up on these procedures to share with landowners in your districts.  There will be time for questions and discussion.  If you intend to take part in the discussion of the position statements relative to water, this is a must session backgrounder.

Lisa Jaramillo, manager of the Transfer and Conservation Section, will join with Dwight in responding to questions.  The department shares this helpful booklet on water right information https://www.oregon.gov/owrd/WRDPublications1/aquabook.pdf which you can share with others.
