Winning for Clean Air Now! Understanding Oregon’s Medical Waste Incineration Act

Oregon is the dumping ground for untreated medical waste from across the country and Canada! It’s time for us to say “NO MORE!” Now is our big opportunity to update weak policies that allow for medical waste incineration that emits highly hazardous air toxics in the Willamette Valley.
The 2023 Oregon legislature is working on Senate Bill 488 to create stronger waste incineration regulations.
Deschutes Soil and Water Conservation District is fully committed to providing accessible facilities, elements and
channels of communication to all members of the public. As part of this commitment, Deschutes Soil and Water Conservation District
has a policy of providing an accessible website compatible with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and
